Griz Dwight
The Fiola Restaurant Table

Designed by Griz Dwight, a Washington, D.C. architect, this custom-built dining table was built for a restaurant, also located in our nation's capital. The base is made of hand-forged, solid steel finished in a hand-brushed bronze.

The top of this unique piece of furniture, seen below, was provided to Charleston Forge by the client. This is not an unusual arrangement as we do so much custom work. It is a laterally sliced section of a parota log, an exotic hardwood from Central America. The wood came to us with a center-to-edge split so we fashioned a custom fit wedge to complete the circle and create a functional dining surface.

You can see more of Griz's work on his company's website, Grizform Design Architects.
